Beethoven Celebration: Part 1 - Grace and Wit

Harmonium of Texas continues its inaugural season with a celebration of Beethoven?s impact on music, commemorating the 200th anniversary of Beethoven?s death. The first concert of our 7-concert series welcomes guest conductor Stephanie Childress, Principal Guest Conductor of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and one of today?s rising international conductors. Childress opens the concert with Britten?s spirited Simple Symphony. Mexican pianist Daniela Liebman, an acclaimed young artist who has performed with more than 30 orchestras across four continents, joins Harmonium for Beethoven?s Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, Op. 19. The evening concludes with Beethoven?s Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21, offering audiences a glimpse into the bold, inventive musical voice that would transform the symphonic tradition.
